My daughter is 21 months old and I am a SAHM, so she relies on me to be available all the time and it's frustrating that she won't play by herself. She has toys, she has space, but she wants me for every activity and will fuss like mad or do something she's not supposed to do just to get attention when I'm not there. I have made every corner of our house play-friendly, but she'll only play by herself for a couple minutes before she comes wanting attention. If I put my foot down and leave her to play, she cries and comes hang off my leg. I need some suggestions to get her to play by herself and be more independent.
