Eating out with a toddler who isn't interested in food

We aren't a family that eats out a lot. I have some food allergies, and it's just easier to eat at home or get take out. We're going on vacation soon, and will be eating out at least a few times. Our little dude is 2, and recently switched from a high chair to a "big boy chair" (Ikea junior chair). We eat meals together at home, but he isn't a big eater - 3 or 4 bites and then he's done and wants to go play. How do you handle this in a restaurant? Obviously he won't sit quietly while we eat a meal after he finishes, and breaking out crayons, books, etc. might buy us a few minutes tops. We're talking grill-type restaurants, not fast food, and not super fancy.Any advice? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2nl2UmB
