Need your top tips for a hospital stay with a two year old please!

As a little background my son will be turning two next month. He is having a thoracotomy so he'll have a large incision running between two ribs, a chest drain, central lines etc during his recovery. We're in hospital accommodation the night before the op, then he'll be in ICU the first night post surgery so I'll be in a local hotel. After that he'll be in a room on the ward and I'll be able to stay on the sofa-bed with him until he's allowed to go home, probably 4-5 days. We're lucky he'll be at a dedicated children's hospital so play facilities and specialists are available and there's free tv at the bedside, but I'm struggling to decide what to take from home for both our comfort.I'm thinking for him: Comfort blanket, bubbles, a few favourite toys, snacks, iPad to Skype family, pull on trousers, button up tops and button up pyjamas for easy dressing, dressing gown and snuggly towel. For me: Good instant coffee and travel cup, snacks, Kindle, crochet supplies (I'm learning!), notebook and pen, warm slippers, towel, travel pillow, comfortable sheet, good towel and washing powder for any laundry.Any advice out there for other things to take that will make this stay as smooth and as pleasant as possible? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2bgsQ8S
