My daughter will be 8 this year. Birthday in early fall. I've never been a big fan of hosting big parties for kids birthdays...meaning other than a cake with your family and a few gifts, I don't think it's necessary to have lots of friends etc. before you are old enough to really get what is going on and appreciate it. For her days up to this I've done small family parties. Now that she's turning 8, I'd like to do something bigger but not break the bank either. I think she is old enough now to understand it.That being said...what are some ideas for a home party? Maybe activities? Do I expect parents to stay or can they drop and leave? And the big question...can I cap it at 8 girls? How does she pick who to invite? I don't want to exclude anyone and have kids feelings get hurt, but also don't want to invite 25 kids to my house... via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2arVhQL
