We are deciding between a few preschools for our 2 year old. M-F, mornings only. Assuming money is not an issue, in your opinion, is there any real, tangible benefit to spending more money for nicer facilities, more toys, better resources, etc.? This may sound like a "duh yes" question, but really, at 2 years old, I'm wondering if spending the extra money (in some cases, $1000 more a month for certain schools) is just silly. We plan on being a bit "tiger mom" ish in the sense that we are shooting for Ivy League. However, in my own experience, hammering education, grades, hard work, and getting straight A's wasn't really a thing until jr. high. It's a marathon, not a sprint. At the end of the day, as long as the kid will learn to socialize, learn new skills, be loved by the teachers (hopefully), and be prepared for kindergarten, I'm happy. Option #1 - state subsidized, 2 room school, with good outdoor space. Low teacher turnover. Good reviews from neighbor kids. Low cost. 5 minute walk. Option #2 - Jewish preschool, great reputation, good facilities, 10 minute drive. Option #3 - expensive montessori, great facilities, individualized education plans, more upper middle class student body. Option #1 works best for our family, convenience wise, with two FT working parents. However, as a nervous mom, I just want to be fully informed about what we may be missing out on. Thanks in advance. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2aKszid
