Sex is still painful after 8 months

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it's been 8 months since I had my first child. Anytime my husband and I engage in sex, it is really painful. I'll try to describe the pain not going into too much detail. When he enters, I can feel stinging pain all over my walls and then a sharp shooting pain when he gets deeper that I actually shout out in pain. I have scheduled a smear test with my doctor. I'm just wondering if this is something that's normal amongst other women after having their first (or multiple) children? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2MTLTgw
