Awkward Mother of the Year

Ughh I feel like an asshole.So my son plays Roblox. He plays it on my labtop. I let him play an hour every day after he finishes homework... he is 10.I get my labtop back yesterday and his screen is still up displaying different groups he supports. One of the groups is LGBT.So I think maybe I shouldnt have said anything. I went into his room ..( I want to punch myself as I'm writing this..)I said your Roblox screen was left up and I noticed you were a part of LGBT, he said yeah, I support it. I said aww, cool!**I should have just walked away RIGHT THEN.My brother is gay, he went through a lot during his younger years, feeling different and suffering in silence. I am in no way shape or form homophobic. I just wanted him to know I was here if he needed to talk. I feel like my intentions were good...but assholes are assholes regardless of intent:/SO I continued being awkward and said "because you know, if you have any questions and if you were worried about being gay, I want you to know it's ok and I love you"He looked at me and said " I need to make sure I log out from now on"I said "understood" and slowly waked away."worried about being gay" that came out of my mouth....Jesus ChristI need a fucking manual!!!!!!! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2mIO4rt
