Feel like a failed parent, dog nipped at my 3 yo and probably scarred her for life

We were at a family BBQ and while leaving someone's dog ran off and barked and nipped my 3yo on the thigh. The dog didn't break skin but my kid was terrified.I saw the unleased dog, I didn't say anything cause we were walking to my car and figured its a 30 second walk. The owners were in the process of moving them out to a sectioned off area.I know this dog is not well behaved.I'm sad and disappointed in myself. My kid doesn't want to see dogs anymore and I feel bad. It could've been much worse.I'm now eating shame chips and drinking flat orange soda. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2lTYgNS
