So my daughter is turning 2 in a couple of weeks and for a while now, I have been letting her watch more cartoons. They are more like educational cartoons, something along the lines of apples are red and 1234 with sing-a-longs. She watches about 2 - 3 hours of cartoons on a daily basis and I don't know how to feel about it.On one hand, I feel like she is developing well, because she talks a lot, says words in 2 different languages because we are teaching her and overall, she is a happy little 2 year old with an attitude at times. But on the other hand, I sometimes feel like the cartoons I am letting her watch are getting a bit out of hand because sometimes she wants to watch them all the time, on the computer, on my phone, on my SO's phone and we tell her no, let her cry a bit and then she gets over it and finds something else to do.The thing with my daughter is that whenever I want to use the computer, she always wants to get on my lap and watch something, so I put on something for her on one monitor while I play a game, shop, pay the bills on the other one. Like I am doing right now, as I am writing this, she is on my lap :DI try to rationalize her watching of cartoons by the facts that she is learning how to speak two languages from them (we are teaching her English because we are living in Poland) and the fact that she remembers things from cartoons and tries to implement them into her life, like brushing her teeth, hands and eating fruits and vegetables. Which isn't a bad thing necessarily, but I keep thinking to my self that 2-3 hours of screen time a day is too much. Is it? Even if she is actually learning from the things she is watching?Me and my SO are also teach her stuff aside from watching cartoons. Just like life things, crossing the street, manners etc...I don't know if I am doing this whole parenting thing right or not, I also try to take her to the park as often as possible (right now, I have a week off of work because she has an ear infection) and we go on walks to try and keep her active and she is, she likes to run around and jump and all the signs are pointing to me that she is developing correctly, but I am worried that those 2 - 3 hours of cartoon time will negatively effect her in the long run. Like for example, when we try to turn off a cartoon, she starts crying and yelling but then calms down a bit fairly quickly.TLDR; I want to know your opinions and experiences regarding TV/Cartoon time with your kids and a little advice on something that I can do or should do regarding this situation. Thank you and sorry for the long post :) via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2mD5XI1
