My 5 year old told me this evening that he had a secret to tell me. He whispered in my ear that he wanted to be a girl. I told him ok, let's talk about it. We had a long talk about gender, trans people, identity. I made it clear to him that whoever he wants to be, his father and I will always love him no matter what.Turns out what he really wanted was wear a "girls" costume for Halloween which I of course told him he could absolutely do without being a girl and he was happy with that.
