Teacher has great ways to help with son's restlessness due to intelligence

My son's kinda advanced for his 1st grade. My wife's a math teacher and we worked hard with him in math in his early years and he's fortunate enough that everything else had fallen into place for him. He reads extremely well and math is a breeze for him. His teacher, realizing in the first couple of weeks that he acts up a lot mostly due to boredom with the material, has put together an action plan to keep him active. When he's done with his work, depending on the time of day, he'll go to the 2nd grade class and help students with their reading, writing, or math, and in the late afternoon he goes to Pre-K to read outloud to them. I'm super proud of him!I have one concern though... How do I prevent him from getting a big head thinking he's better than everyone else? He knows he's smarter. And what do I do to keep him engaged and motivated as he grows older? I know everything was easy for me. I never had to study and I got A's without much effort. If something took effort, I usually didn't bother doing it. I want to help him not fall into that trap. Suggestions? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2fC7fNn
