My son has recently been in this phase of coming out of his room at bedtime. We will bring him back and put him in bed. But he will talk to us over and over trying to stall and eventually will come back out...sometimes immediately. We stand firm and bring him to bed and close the door. Waterworks ensue. This happens over and over for 45-60 minutes each night. Tons of tears on each side until he finally relents and falls asleep and doesn't come out. We've tried a chart where he could earn a board game, he eventually did earn it, but the behavior continued afterwards. He cannot watch tv or iPad after rough nights. Two nights ago was pretty good so we watched Star Wars together. He loved it and told everyone at school. The next night I said we could watch another and he couldn't care less it seemed.I wanna lock him in his room so he will learn sometimes but I think that will cause a Chernobyl level meltdown. The other thing that's awful is we have a 16 month old who sleeps great, but if she's woken up it's a pain in the butt to get her back down. Sometimes it has taken hours. Her room is certainly within earshot of the hysterics. We're exhausted at the end of the night. Does anyone have any good ideas for this? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2xaqF5R
