So just like the title says, I have an aggressive toddler. My child's doctor referred him to early intervention and we have been seeing a speech pathologist for his speech delay (only saying one word consistently, which is dada, the rest is babble or said very infrequently.). However, all we have learned so far is a proper restraining hold for him so he doesn't break my nose or collarbone. My seventeen month old has left large and small scratches in my face, bruises on my body, and I have several scabs on my lip from him busting them. Yesterday he headbutted me so hard, he misaligned one of my front teeth. He will bite you so hard his jaw will shake, he has grabbed my throat so hard his little hands shake too. He doesn't just hurt me; this happens with other people including his dad and himself. He will actually headbutt walls and floors really hard, and has been known to hit his mouth on the crib to make himself bleed (this is a big reason we switched to a big boy bed). We also switched beds due to poop play. It got very frequent there for a while, and now it is occasional. We also began "spazzing "about two weeks ago. This is where at random or when he gets a little overwhelmed he will take his hands and swing them and hit everything off of whatever surface or hit us. It almost seems reflexive. His father and I are so tired. Has anyone else gone through this? He's so wonderful most of the time, but I have done everything I can to address this when it started around 11&12 months and it has gotten so progressively worse. I feel like I can't say nice things about him anymore because whenever people get near him to play I have to warn them. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2yijLIM
