I am a youngish Dad, I have two boys who are so so awesome, I've been paying child support for 9 years now.I am in the UK and I pay a % of my salary, direct, via BACs.I just missed my first payment ever.I had the kids for an extra week in the school hols, prior to that I had totally unavoidable expenses, admittedly I put an extra £50 aside so i could have some cash to make sure I could do stuff with them in that extra weekMy options now are to pay my missed payment within a week, or face a court order/fines/etc. (my payment is now around 12 days late) Basically legally they are gonna try and get the money and it really looks like I don't have a leg to stand on, as technically I shouldn't have missed a payment. Or get it taken from my wage, which will cost me 20% more in fees.I know its irrelevant, but the other half does not need the money. She has "more than enough" - I on the other hand... have very little. I have 19 days until payday and £0 in my account..1) Why does she, and her family + many other people assume I'm a scumbag instantly because I cant pay one payment. I feel this is quite a biased area of society.2) I can't pay, what am I supposed to do. I cant pay her double next month, and i certainly can't afford an extra 20% per month without it causing huge problems for me...Insights anyone? :S via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2xJW8t1
