HELP! Anyone find a good solution for the problem of your child flipping out when it's time for shots or blood draw at the doctor... to the point the doctor can't get it done? What was your fix? Looking fwd to your answers for kids of any age, but particularly in the 9-12 range. Thanks! [Serious]

I recall being really sad and scared at shot time at the doc, but never turning purple and screaming/flailing etc, like my friend said her son did today. Just got off the phone and she's freaking out cuz she's a single mom, can't miss a lot of work, and her kid may not be allowed back into school without the shots. She said her ped said there was nothing she could do with all the flailing the child or her could get hurt with a needle involved.Your tips are greatly appreciated. Apparently this MAY have become a regular thing after the child was hurt in an accident and needed a number of shots for stitches a couple of years ago, but she's not sure.Sorry to ramble, hopefully all these details are helpful. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2fea0Ut
