Divorced mom here. I am in WA State USA, and my 5 year old sons father is in TX. He left when I was pregnant, and has never seen his son. I have given many opportunities, but he simply does not want anything to do with the boy. Before now, the 'Daddy isn't ready to be a daddy yet' placated him, but as he just started school, he is noticing more and more that there is usually another parent present. He tells stories about dreams where his dad was there, and lists all these things he wants to do with his dad. He even gets frustrated and cries because he does not know why his dad wants nothing to so with him. I am at a loss. His uncle (dads brother) lives near us and I have talked to him about this as well. The uncle has agreed that he will help with this as well, but as to what to do or say other than being there for him as we have, I am lost.
