My husband and I have a 4 yr old and 1 yr old. His parents (my in-laws) live very nearby and are constantly around the school our son is going to attend this fall due to their other grandchildren attending the same school. We have absolutely no relationship with them whatsoever. They have not been involved in our older child's life since shortly after his first birthday. They've never met or inquired about our younger child. They ignore our children for all holidays, birthdays, etc.Neither of our children know who they are, but our 4 year old recently started asking about his father's parents. How should we address this? I don't want to say terrible things about them and scare our children, but I want to make clear that they are not people our children should expect to ever be part of their lives. My husband has made it clear to his parents to stay away from our children when we are not around (due to them approaching our older son when he was with nanny and saying they're his grandparents). via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2uzkN0L
