Hi. I'm having an argument with my husband. He thinks that jokes about kids (my 3 1/2 year old son) doing silly things like "playing doctor" with other kids. Or dragging the other one to the bushes to start kissing. Or "next thing you know he'll have his weiner out" (when he's playing with other girl kids) are perfectly fine funny things. He isn't being purposely inappropriate, he's a good dad with good morals and is very respectful to women and his family, he just thinks these are "old time funny jokes, kids always show each other their privates or end up playing doctor, it's been going on for years". After a few occasions of him making these comments, and from I perceived of the parents of the daughters he was making the jokes about, no one else really found them that funny. No one laughed. They just were kind of silent. Or just said that their daughters wouldn't be doing things like that hopefully. No one really cared that much I don't think. So I bought it up and told him he should stop making sexual assault reference jokes around people. I told him it's not that funny. And it comes off as creepy. I know that he's not being serious. But our 2 sons shouldn't grow up thinking these kinds of jokes are funny. He went crazy. Twisted my words of me saying it's creepy to me calling him a creep, which by definition now I think he's a child molester. And until I tell him that I'm the only one who thinks these jokes are inappropriate. Then his wife thinks he's a child molester. I can't find a single thing online about these kinds of jokes. Am I crazy? Parents of daughters. Is it funny to joke about kids playing doctor? Or my son kissing her in the bushes. They are little kids. It's not sexual. But I just feel the jokes are kind of rape culture and I don't like them. Please do not slam me with "divorce him". Advice. Articles. Anything helpful. Thanks via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2hDmVmV
