Pretend play

A preschooler I work with (just turned 5) wants to spend most of her time playing pretend with me. I actually really love pretend play, but she always takes the most inactive role she can think of, usually the mom dropping her kids off somewhere. She wants to sit and watch me play. I always suggest that she try being the dentist or pilot or teacher, or whatever, and she refuses every time. If my interpretation of the game doesn't match hers, she gets frustrated with me. It's wearing me down, I'm tired of performing for this tiny director. Any thoughts? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2qYefKM
