As parents, what sort of stuff do you look back on and wish your parents did differently for you?

As a father of two boys, 5 & 7, I see my wife and I doing things different than my parents would have, be it disciplinary actions, rewards, chores, and so on.It makes me curious on what other parents think of their parents' parenting techniques.Edit: I should mention that my mom's method of teaching us, especially homework, was here is the information provided in a book. Read it. Being a bit of a nerd, I show my kids stuff as I teach them. For example, I was teaching my five-year-old the difference between liquids, gas, and solids by using water, ice, and steam.Getting our hjands dirty, so to speak. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2kVbgAx
