Wife and I want to do something special for our children. Are any of the subscription boxes worth the money?

We have an 11, 7, and a 6 year old children. Ive been thinking about getting them something like lootcrate for a year or so. We decided that lootcrate is a bit out of the age range. Not really being inappropriate but it references stuff our kids dont know. We were thinking about doing something like Mine Chest(a minecraft themed lootcrate) or nerdblock.Part of the problem is mine chest seems real expensive at 39.99 a month and some of the reviews for both nerdblock and minechest arent good. Even going so far as to say they put most of the stuff into goodwill when they received it. The last thing I want to do is end up with 3 disappointed kids.
