My daughter is 2 years and 9 months old. She is very capable in almost every way for a kiddo her age. She speaks in full sentences, she is 100% potty trained, she can put on her own shoes, etc. What she doesn't do is feed herself. She CAN feed herself, she elects not to. She'd rather fight for hour taking one bite every 15 minutes then actually pick the spoon up bite after bite and feed herself. Some days I think it is a power move. She is very strong-willed, so I think it is something that she has control of and doesn't want to give it up. Other days, I think that she is just a little kid who is too distracted to be bothered with eating. We've tried just letting her starve until she is so hungry that she has to eat, but she becomes completely insufferable when she is hungry and fighting with a hungry and angry 2 year old is not fun. If we just put food out and let her nibble as she pleases, she doesn't eat. The only options we've really found are to either sit there and spoon feed her like a baby, or fight about it for an hour or more.Advice? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2aR0aJf
