Does anyone else find it harder to be genuinely interested in, or 'get into'' things?

Since becoming a parent my passion for all the things I used to care about has become very muted.I used to keep up on space news. Not anymore.Everyone at work has been talking about the Olympics for the past two weeks. I didn't watch a single event. Just didn't care.Everyone I know watched the Tragically Hip live stream the other night. I knew it was happening but just couldn't be bothered.I used to enjoy watching movies. Now I can't even get through one. They just don't engage me anymore. Same with TV.I used to love immersing myself in computer game worlds, exploring and playing and getting into the story. Nope, now I just can't bring myself to care anymore. This has all happened since becoming a parent, and I suspect it has a lot to do with having very little free time or energy. Wake up between 5 and 6 whenever a kid decides they're awake. Get them fed and dressed. Get myself dressed. Go to work. Work. Eat lunch. Work. Come home. Feed kids. Get them into bed. Tidy house. Then have an hour or two to just zone out before bed - usually spent dicking around on my phone instead of doing anything productive or interesting. Then get up and do it again. It's just really hard to take genuine interest in anything these days.Does anybody else feel this way? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2bAC1Ec
