Parenting as the fun dad was fun while it lasted - anyone else in the same boat?

My upbringing was chaotic so when I became a dad, I made a point to be the dad that I always wished that I had. I was the fun dad to my two sons. Especially when their friends were around. I would join in on video games, play sports, hike, etc. Just being one of them. My youngest is now 14 and clearly wants to be with his own friends. It went from their wanting me to be around, to their doing their own thing but at our house to wanting to be as free as possible. I am not surprised. I am not even upset because I don't take it personal. It was therapeutic for me. It's something seeing them and their friends grow up. Like, they really do grow up. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2x9evMi
