Nearly 2 year old still not talking

My near 2 year old still does not talk. He makes a lot of noise, but does not have a wide variety of syllables, and has 5 words at most (which are not even used consistently). He's done some speech therapy, which didn't really do much, and they don't think he has apraxia or any other diagnosable delay. We constantly try to simplify speech and focus on words, but it doesn't seem to help much. He understands nearly everything we say, and is otherwise developmently normal (even ahead in many milestones), but his speech hasn't changed much since the 1 year mark. He communicates mostly through gestures and screaming.Has anyone else gone through this? Did you do anything special to help, or did your child just come along at some point? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3bw2YFM
