My daughter is going on 11 months and I’ve noticed some things that are concerning me. I know you shouldn’t compare your child to others, but I don’t have a mom and neither does my child’s father so really that’s what I’m stuck doing. I don’t know what is normal and what isn’t, and I don’t have a good source to ask in my life so here I am.I don’t exactly know how to explain this but I’ll try my best. She doesn’t appear to be learning things like the other babies I’ve been around. She has very little focus, does not mimic or imitate, and overall seems to be much less aware than her peers. This happens with a wide range of things. For example, she can’t hold her bottle by herself and doesn’t even seem to know what it is unless I’m giving it to her. She also doesn’t seem to really know who I or her father are. She doesn’t distinguish us from any other people. She doesn’t associate us with mama or dads words. She does not reach out to me for comfort, and has never clung to me for comfort. Learning activities seem useless because she doesn’t pay attention or engage in them whatsoever, she’s only frustrated by them, no matter how often I try or how fun I try to make it. It’s like the old saying “the lights are on but no one is home.” I wish I could describe this better. It’s like other babies are becoming children and my child just isn’t. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2y8QF3C
