My 10 year old (5th grade) daughter has always been food obsessed. Her favorite part of any occasion or vacation is the food she eats. As soon as one meal is over, she asks what she is eating next. We have plenty of food and she has always been told to eat until she is full. She is particularly junk food obsessed. We sometimes have junk food around, but it is not an everyday thing. This Thursday she was caught stealing food (sweets) from another student’s backpack. The teacher caught her, confronted her, and she returned the food. I’m not sure how much other kids know. She cried when we confronted her but we had not issued a specific consequence. As I was going the laundry I found another snack wrapper from a snack that I do not buy. It was in a pocket in her clothes. I asked her about it and she said that a friend had given it to her. I was about to call the friend and ask, when she confessed she has stolen it on Wednesday from a different classmate.I am at a loss. Should we go to these kids’ houses, have her confess, and buy replacement treats? I know I want her to have to use money that she recently earned through 4h to repair the damage, but I don’t know how.HELP! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2LGGuI2
