Looking for advice here.My mother-in-law has long taught a Sunday school class for children at her church. My wife (who used to go to the church) and I both don’t ever attend because we aren’t fans of the pastor. We have a church that we go to, but it’s different denomination (Episcopal vs Baptist) - but we have always figured that the structure and community of having a second church to go to wasn’t a bad thing for our daughter.Until today - when she came to me crying saying that the Pastor (and a woman she didn’t know) asked her to go to a room alone and started grilling her about whether or not she had been “Saved” or not.I’m livid for two main reasons: 1) I personally struggle with religion either way - and if there is a heaven I don’t believe that the path is some magic paragraph you say to get “saved.” Our daughter was christined when she was born. 2) I’m absolutely FURIOUS that an adult male would find it appropriate to be in a room alone with my eight year old daughter. I haven’t found out who the “other woman” was in the room, but I suspect it was his wife. The red flags here are numerous and I have read too many stories of pedophiles whose wives have covered for them to be comfortable with this.I plan on confronting the pastor tomorrow about this after church - but wanted to see if I am overreacting or not.Thoughts? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/32acnPk
