The other evening the whole family was in the car on the way home after a series of long days, and my 7-year old son, Isaac, started having a meltdown about something. His 10-year old brother started yelling at him, which of course made him cry more. It got so bad that I pulled the car over, vaguely thinking of disciplining Isaac somehow.Instead, my wife climbed all the way into the 3rd-row backseat (which made Isaac start laughing instead of crying) and rode the rest of the way home with an arm around her two tired boys, and we had a peaceful ride home. I was so impressed with her presence of mind and ability to defuse the whole situation! And yes, I told her so. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2OhfMJj
