The name Mum doesn't have a lot of positive connotations for me. So I never really referred to myself as Mum. When my kids were little it was never noticeable but now that they're away I stumble over it on the phone. 'Hi daughter, it's Em . . . I mean, Mu . . . it's me' and the poor kid says 'yeah, I know who it's you Mum' And signing notes, I go to write my name then realise I can't/ shouldn't. Today I went to my oldest child's house. I had given her a present and with it had left a small piece of note paper that said Love Mum on it. That scrap of paper was front and center magnetted on her fridge. I suddenly realized if it's that special to my kids who cares about my issues. Mum it is. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2ZcAPgZ
