Teaching child a healthy way to deal with anger when you never learned yourself.

Basically what it says on the tin. Child 1 is getting to the age where he has thoughts and feelings aside from "hungry," "wet" and "stinky;" particularly "angry," and it occurs to me that I have absolutely no idea how to deal with this. I'm certain that there is a healthy way to deal with anger because other people seem to do it, I just never learned. Whenever I was angry growing up I was told to "knock it off," or "go somewhere else," which meant my own parents didn't have to deal with it, but left me to come up with my own solution, namely, "bottle it up and suppress it, burying it deep down where no one will ever find it, until you're finally alone and can throw something at the wall as hard as you can."Obviously I would like my own sprog to have a better solution in place.
