About 3 weeks ago we got a dog from a friend. He's a 2 year Treeing walker coonhound. He's 60ish? pounds. We were told he was wonderful with kids but the longer we've had him, the more aggressive he's gotten towards my kids. Today, he growled and snapped at my 2 year old when he told him no for trying to take his food. (he jumps up and puts his front legs on the table. I've tried telling him no but he doesn't listen) That was the last straw for me. I can't risk one of my kids getting bit. It's not fair to them or the dog. I really think he needs to go to a home with no kids. He doesn't do well when they're loud and run around. That being said, how can I help my 4 year old adjust to getting rid of him? She's absolutely heart broken. I hate it and it breaks my heart but keeping the dog is not an option now. I don't know what to say or do to help her not be so sad. Any advice is welcome. (besides saying keep the dog because that's not happening lol. My kids' safety comes first) via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2JC3jds
