Toddler is rested after four hours of sleep and ready to go again ... help?

Hi everyone! This is a partial rant post, but also a request for help if you have some to offer. My daughter just turned three today. She has had a lot of sleep issues, enough that we've actually been consulting with a pediatrician that specializes in sleep issues. It had gotten a lot better until ... (dun, dun DUN!)About two weeks ago she started waking up about five hours after we get her to sleep. She's sleeping by 9 PM (yes, later, but with the doctor's advice) and gets right about 2 AM. When she wakes, it's not a sudden noise or lack of comfort issue, it is as if she's had it with sleep, and is ready to go!That combined with learning how to get out of bed has been a disaster for us. My wife has been the focus of this (it's MAMA! MAMA! MAMA! time) and so that's been really hard. Most of the sleep advice we've seen expects the kid to be tired, but have had some trigger to wake up. Not in our case. She's sleeping about 10 hours at night, and gets a 2 hour nap (which she seems to need) so she's on target for the "right" amount of sleep. When she gets back to sleep it's about 4:30 AM, and she'd sleep until 10 if we let her. We haven't been, which has been leading to tired behavior during the day too, since that's knocking a couple hours off her daily sleep total. It's the sort of thing we thought would naturally sort itself out, but ... not so far.Anyone with this kind of a problem? We're talking with the doctor soon, but I thought some of you might have had a similar issue. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Xueqiq
