Easter basket disappointment

First thing out of my 10 year olds mouth. “Oh, I got a bunny with sprinkles... I don’t like those.” Followed by disappointment in only having a few things on the table. I tell her, “Remember that the Easter Bunny hides your baskets” she finds it and her sisters basket... starts going through it. Then starts commenting that she always wanted what her sister had gotten in her basket... 10 year old is super into unicorns, her basket was unicorn themed. 5 year old is OBSESSED with mermaids... her basket was mermaid themed. Everything that her sister got, “wow, wish I’d gotten that.” We planted jelly beans last night so that lollipops would grow today. There was 4 for each of them. 10 year old comes in holding 6, 5 year old has 2. “All of mine grew but only two of hers grew...” ummm what? “Well I was going to share...” not the point. I am so upset and angry. We just took her to an expensive restaurant for her birthday and I also had a unicorn cake made for her for her birthday. Nothing is ever good enough for her. I am about ready to just take everything away and give it to someone who will actually appreciate it. I’m going to have a hard time being in a good mood today after this morning, which is not fair to my five year old. It’s been like this for the last couple of holidays and it’s just getting worse. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2IxOpqM
