How should I respond to my 4 year old who won’t poop on potty (not potty training advice)

My 4 year old son does not poop on the potty. I have tried every single training tip/trick out there & have accepted that I cannot make him poop on the potty. I’m looking for advice for how to handle it when it happens that points him in the right direction. Due to trying so many different potty training techniques, I have been inconsistent in my response & I want to change that.A few things to note: - he poops every day (not constipated) - we do not use pull ups, he poops in his underwear - he will occasionally tell me as it is happening & if I pick him up and rush him to the potty we can sometimes make it in time- he has no delays & can communicate well in all other areasAny advice on how to appropriately handle this will be appreciated! via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2ZxPxQb
