One year ago my step kids moved in permanently when their mother went to jail. It’s been a year of tears, triumphs, new friendships, a new school, new activities, therapy, jail visits, adjusting to mom being paroled and getting a step up parenting plan in place. Overall the kids have adjusted well to the changes. They have challenges but we have a steady schedule, structure and a home filled with love. I didn’t expect to be raising these kids full time but they really are a blessing even if one of them is reminding me weekly how challenging the preteen/teen years can be.I know, I know suspicious new account.
