Single parents with multiple small children.... how?

Let me lead this with: I have the utmost respect for single parents. I'm married and it's a struggle for me to handle two kids on my own for a few hours. I was having a particularly difficult time tonight with both kids in full meltdown mode, frustrated, and trying to keep it all together. Suddenly, I thought... Omg I can't imagine doing this full-time without having a nervous breakdown. How do single parents do this every day?
