We had been gently trying a few years ago. We knew we weren't going to go as far as assisted reproduction, but we stopped using contraceptives knowing what that meant. Some years went by and life continues to be rich and exciting. My kids got older. It got pushed farther onto the back burner.Well now I'm 41 and my younger kid is about to turn 9. We are about to move out of our house next month for a down-to-the-studs remodel. My dad is getting over abdominal surgery. My boss wants to promote me to a junior admin role that I don't think I want. And now I'm pregnant.As I laugh helplessly, buy prenatals and look up miscarriage stats for my age group - anyone here want to share their stories, triumphs and fails for being older parents, dealing with a big age gap, dealing with pregnancy while remodeling?
