As a parent of a child who is sensitive to sugar, I am sick of holidays being so difficult to get through.

Every time a holiday rolls around my child is showered with sugar. Green cupcakes at school for St Patricks day. Halloween, christmas, and valentines candy. Easter bunnies and eggs. Everything revolves around sugar. As the person who takes care of him and spends the most time with him, this is very frustrating. Just a few pieces of candy can trigger big meltdowns, defiant attitudes, and general lack of coping. Most of my family knows this and respects the fact that he shouldnt have much sugar. But i want to take it a step further and try and provide the most stable holidays possible for him by finding an alternative to traditional candy. Are there types of candy/chocolates youve found that are made with sugar alternatives that your children like? It without question has to be something thats not going to be equally bad for (aspartame, etc). I am determined to take back our familys holidays. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2KSmd3C
