My 16 month old son was recently diagnosed with extremely deep arichnoid notches. Basically, he is close to having a laryngeal cleft type I. We have a great team at Children's Hospital of Philidelphia but, I am searching for feedback from parents or speech therapists that have gone through the reconstructive surgery for laryngeal cleft type I to help me figure out what the process will be like in hospital and post op.We are going to talk with the surgeon tomorrow to decide if he will have full reconstructive surgery or if he will receive an injection that may last as long as a year.
