Apparently Delta has a pretty terrible policy when flying with an infant. On the website it allows you to request a bassinet on a first come first serve basis and tells you to check at the gate when you arrive. We called to get our child on my wife's ticket and we're told the same thing. So we show up 4 hours early to make sure we are first in line to get one asked again as we checked luggage and were told to see the gate agent.Turns out that they oversold their flight and the bassinet is only available on a single row. Since they oversold the flight they can't move anyone. I did notice 2-3 plain clothed employees boarding (dead-heading) which makes me a little more distraught. If I would have known I would have booked in that row ahead of time but their policy is their policy and it honestly isn't a clear or family friendly policy. Now to their credit, a gate agent was listening in on our conversation and was able to intervene to make things work, but if he wasn't there we would have been SOL. All of the agents were polite and I did not receive bad customer service, I simply want to point out a terrible policy. I don't think I'll be flying Delta with my family again. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2ppvVxJ
