My daughter is just at the age where we're starting to get her to walk when the other day we noticed that her left leg was turned slightly inward and could not be extended fully. Obviously we were extremely alarmed and booked an appointment with the health nurse. Today we saw her and she confirmed my daughter will need to be seen my a orthopaedic specialist...If that wasn't bad enough, the nurse checked her over and noticed that her fontanelle (soft spot on the head) was harder then it should be and will need to be checked by another doctor. We're just shocked, worried, devastated. I'm able to keep it together but my wife was bad enough until she googled ( I know but can't be helped) and now she's in tears. I'm trying to reassure her and state that my daughter hasn't even been diagnosed and her head check is only a precaution. The worst part is it's a 4 week wait for an appointment for her leg and 6 weeks for her head check. She's a perfect baby, I know there are parents in the world that go through worse but to just get hit with that double whammy in such a short space is hard to take.Any advice on how to ease my wifes worries greatly received. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2pBS503
