3 year old gets mad and throws everything

My 3 (almost 4) year old daughter throws fits when she gets mad about something. It's all normal kid behavior and I usually respond with a time out until she calms down. Sometimes I do the 'time in' approach if she wants me there with her to help her calm down, but other times she just wants to throw her fit alone and go about her day.Every now and then she goes ballistic and throws everything she can get her hands on. The last time she threw all her books on the floor, so I put them all away in a big tote bin and told her if she couldn't take care of her things I would have to put them away. (She still has a shelf full of books that she didn't throw, so she still has books to read.)So today after her tantrum I told her she had two options: she could pick everything up and put it back where it goes, or I could pick it up and put it all in a bin. Her choice. She, of course, didn't like either option and didn't pick up the mess. So I'm planning to do the same thing I did with her books and put it all in a storage bin.Does this sound reasonable? I think it does, but I don't want to be too hard on her. Are there any better solutions? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2piDcNl
