My wife and childcare provider thought that my daughter was ready to potty train at 17 months. She showed interest in it and had success the first couple of times but I think it was just coincidence. I didn't think she was ready based on her communication skills and comprehension. However, I was overruled and called lazy and accused of underestimating my daughter and they went ahead. It's been three weeks of accidents and messes. She knows where the potty is. She talks about it all the time, sits on it regularly. But will NOT go!
