Has anyone here had their children undergo growth hormone therapy?

My son just went through all the tests necessary to qualify for HGH treatment, and we're getting ready to start. I was wondering if anyone has done it? How did you introduce the injections? At what age did your child self-administer (if ever), results? How long did you go for?My kid is 7 and two deviations south of mean on the growth chart.
