My daughter recently moved up to the one-year-old class as she is fifteen months old and now consistently walking. She has been in this facility since she was 11 weeks old and I have been very happy with her caretakers...up until now. I met her new teacher who was nice enough, but didn't seem to have much experience with children aside from her own 18-month-old who also attends the center in another class. So far, it has just been little things, like only changing her diaper two/three times in the time she is there (from 7:30-5:30), finding leftover poop in my daughter's diaper from a morning change, and picking her up with a completely full diaper. She has also gotten a few rashes which she has never gotten before. While I was there one day to pick my daughter up, the teacher had her back turned to the classroom while unloading the kids from a buggy and one little girl, who was already crying, slammed her finger in the door. She also told me a story about how she turned her back "for one second" while the kids were eating and my daughter started choking (she likes to shove lots of food in her mouth at once) and she had to stick her finger down her throat to get the food out. This had apparently happened a few days prior but I was never told about it. I was also there early during snack time and she had her back turned while the kids were feeding themselves chatting with somebody. I'm not an expert but aren't kids this age really susceptible to choking? This is our first child so I don't know if this is all normal parts of being watched in a facility, or if we were just spoiled since her last teachers were SO attentive and upbeat and fantastic. This morning, she asked my husband if his company was hiring so she obviously doesn't want to be there. I have never been concerned leaving my child there but now I am. Am I blowing this out of proportion? Is this worth mentioning to the director? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2mcmFJK
