Night terrors? Dreams? What are we dealing with here?

Our daughter is 3.5yrs. She quite frequently wakes up a few hours after bedtime crying, screaming, mumbling and pushing us away. It can go on for what seems like a very long time before anyone can calm her down. If I go in I can eventually calm her down but still have to endure lots of thrashing and yelling. If my husband tries to settle her she’ll kick him and scream, and she just wants mum. This is awful for him. He wants to be able to be there for her and sooth her.So she can’t seem to tell us what’s upsetting her. She wants to come in to our bed, sometimes we let her do this if she’s sick, but otherwise we try not to.She shares a room with her baby sibling who now constantly gets disturbed. What are we dealing with here? She doesn’t seem to be afraid of the dark, and hasn’t watched anything scary. Is all this behavior just to get in our bed? Or is she genuinely still asleep through most of these episodes?I’m so tired! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3bnZhBH
