Kids always tell the truth... except when they don't!

Ok so this happened to me this morning. I'm a father of two kids from Barcelona, 5 and 2 years old (the story is about the 5yo).I woke up at 7:15AM and started making a sandwich for her school breakfast and getting her dressed up with the tracksuit as she has Gym class today. Suddenly, at 7:35, the Whatsapp group from the class (moms and dads) starts roaring: one mother alerts everyone that her kid is saying that today they have a field trip and they don't have to wear the tracksuit nor bring breakfast cause they'll be eating outside.Alarms sound off and everybody goes crazy, obviously. "Why didn't they warn us?", "I haven't received any message about this!", "What do we do?"...The school has an app for messaging with teachers, and where they tell us when they have a field trip, a party, an special class for which they have to bring something, etc. Nobody has received any message in the App about that field trip, so the story is quickly dismissed.7:50... a second mother says that her daughter also says that it's true: they have a field trip, and the school didn't warn us through the App cause they want to encourage kids to be more responsible and be the ones who tell the parents about this things. So all hell breaks loose. Moms go crazy, some have already sent their kids in the bus ready for the Gym class, others are still in process of getting ready and don't know what to do.We ask our daughter and she says she doesn't remember right, but hints that maybe it's true they have a field trip. But she ain't 100% sure.I'm looking at all this and decide with my wife that the best attitude is "Fuck it, she goes with the tracksuit anyway, it's too late to change her now and we need to leave home asap".So I'm dropping her in the school, and when I arrive there (8:30, class starts at 9:00) I look for the teacher and tell her what's been going on for the last hour. The teacher goes all ROFL.In short: there was no field trip, and if there was one we would be notified through the App.So I send this message to the group, "IT'S ALL FAKE NEWS!" and we all had a good laugh about it.------------Moral of the story: when it comes to trusting what your kid says... half of the time is pure made up. And for the other half, just believe half of it. And this is true 50% of times.Señor, llévame pronto! xD via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/39mjPtR
