I need help: books featuring trains which actually have a plot?

I have a train obsessed kiddo and I am losing my mind trying to find books about trains somewhere in between: "This is a train. Chuga choo choo" and "Commuter rail, or suburban rail, is a passenger rail transport service that primarily operates within a metropolitan area, connecting commuters to a central city"I'm looking for picture books like feature trains but have some sort of storyline or plot.
