What if my SO is just a bad step-parent? I mean, he tries to do the right thing but he pretty consistently creates (or makes worse) arguments with my 6 year old. He has said things to her that shouldn’t ever be said in my opinion. For example: he’s told her we’re going to keep her from her bio dad because of the way she acts when she gets back (I would never allow this and I have made that known to her), he also said “daughter” to her mockingly during an argument insinuating that she isn’t really viewed as his daughter. These incidents both happened in the last few weeks. I just feel like an apology isn’t enough, and I’m not sure the behavior will change with two incidents so close together.
